How to Set Your Battery Percentage on Your iPhone

Here’s a simple trick that can help you maintain your iPhone battery life. All you have to do is just to set your battery percentage to be visible so you’ll determine the battery life remaining. Usually the default settings on all IOS does not show the battery percentage.

It would be easier to determine than just base it on the battery icon. The battery percentage is reliable so before you head out to work, party, meetings etc. You’ll definitely know if you need to charge your phone or not.

This works the same for all IOS devices such as iPhones, iPad or iPod touch. Since most of our users is using iPhone and usually drain their batteries because of their data usage, games, using primarily for calls, text or even the camera. Let’s focus on this one then.

How to show the battery percentage on your IOS

This way it will let you display the battery life percentage beside your battery icon in the status bar at the top of your iPad, iPod touch or iPhones.

  1. Go to “Settings” > then tap on “General”
  2. Select “Battery” and toggle the switch of “Battery Percentage” to turn it ON
  3. Then press the home key. It should show up on the upper right corner of your screen.

See the photo example below.

This will give you an accurate information on how long your battery life has. Another option is you can check the details under settings.

  1. Go to “Settings” > Select “General”
  2. Tap on “Usage”, Scroll down and look for “Time since last full charge”

a. Usage shows how long you’ve been using your device since the last time t was fully charged in hours and minutes.

 b. Standby shows how long your device has been idle since the last time it was completely charged. This also helps you if you want to determine how much does an application consume and based it on the battery percentage.

This could be very useful without letting you worry that your phone is about to die and won’t be able to use it for emergency purposes. Life is easier seeing your battery on 50% rather than guessing an icon that does not indicate how long you battery life is not until it turns red.

Perhaps it would be even more useful if there would be an indicator for the time remaining just like on Mac computer. Hopefully Apple gets to develop that on the next generations for IOS.

Usually, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad tends to get a very long battery life compared to the other iPhones . So it’s not necessary to activate it on those device but you can still activate it whatever it is that you prefer. On the next blogs I will be sharing more trick on how to extend your battery life on all iPhones.
